THEM FIRST
What Employee Care is genuinely good at
Employee Care is an established Thai vendor in this space, and there are things it does that we simply do not.
- Photo verification at clock-in, and support for biometric data such as face and fingerprint
- Meeting room booking in the same system
- Automatic distance calculation for field work
- Its own iOS and Android apps alongside a web version
- Internal announcements
THE DIFFERENCES
Side by side
| ITEM | Employee Care | WorkCo |
|---|---|---|
| HOW STAFF REACH IT | ||
| What staff install | The Employee Care app, on each person's phone | Nothing. It opens in the LINE they already have |
| What LINE is used for | Notifications are sent to LINE, and the work happens in the app | LINE is the app: check-in, leave and payslips all happen there |
| On a computer | Opens in a browser | Opens in any browser: sign in with LINE Login and the full system runs on a computer. The HQ dashboard is designed for a desktop screen |
| ATTENDANCE AND PAYROLL | ||
| Identity check | A photo at clock-in, with face and fingerprint supported | GPS from the employee's own phone with a radius you set. No biometrics |
| Lateness is measured against | The time recorded by the attendance system | That person's own assigned shift start time |
| Payroll | Automated salary calculation covering absence, lateness, overtime and deductions | Calculated from the hours actually worked, with payslips and hourly, daily or monthly contracts |
| SCOPE AND PRICE | ||
| Meeting rooms and field work | Both meeting room booking and distance calculation | Neither. We only do shift teams |
| Multiple branches | Manages staff across the organisation | Each branch has its own shifts and GPS radius. Our largest customer runs 30 locations and over 150 staff |
| Price | Not published on their website; you contact them for a quote | Published in full: free while the whole group is up to 20 employees, then ฿1,500 per location per month on your own branded account, in Thailand |

WHICH ONE
Which one you should choose
Choose Employee Care if
- You need face or fingerprint verification, not just location
- You have office staff who need to book meeting rooms
- You need field-work distance calculated
- Your team is comfortable installing a company app
Choose WorkCo if
- You have tried getting staff to install an app and some of them did not
- Your work is genuinely shift-based and you want lateness measured against each person's own shift
- You run several branches and want one view across them
- You want to see the price before you talk to anyone
- You do not want another device to maintain, because the day it fails nobody in the shop can clock in and you wait days for a technician
- You want head office to see labour cost across every branch as the month runs, not after it closes
- You want the team to work on a computer as well as a phone
FAQ
Questions people actually ask
Both mention LINE. What is the actual difference?
The difference is where the work happens. Employee Care's own site describes LINE and email as notification channels, so LINE carries the message and staff open their app to do the task. WorkCo is a mini app running inside LINE, so checking in, requesting leave and reading a payslip all happen in LINE. There is no second app.
We need face or fingerprint scanning. Can WorkCo do that?
No, and we are not going to say otherwise. WorkCo uses GPS from the employee's own phone, inside a radius you set, and stores no biometric data. If face or fingerprint is a real requirement for you, Employee Care meets it and we do not.
